Accessibility Information for Destin, FL

From a community member:

I’d greatly appreciate any information on Destin, FL. Thanks in advance.

Hi! Destin is a fairly accessible city, and has taken many steps to become more accessible. Walking in the sand can be a challenge for many on their feet; It’s nearly impossible for those with disabilities in a wheelchair. Fortunately, the counties of Walton and Okaloosa recognize this issue and have come up with a couple of solutions to combat the problem. Everyone deserves the chance to go out on the beautiful white beach and take in all the Emerald Coast has to offer! Here’s an article to access points and information on beach accessibility.

As far as excursions go, this article has 20 handicap accessible activities, tours, and attractions. All seem so fun! I haven’t personally done them so cannot vouch for their actual accessibility.

For hotels, on accessibleGO.com, we have six hotels listed on our site in Destin, FL that we have accessibility data on, depending what you need.

Thank you so much for coming to the forum to reach out to the community for some help. As you can tell, we all love to share our best and worst travel experiences.

Keep on traveling; It’s our world too! :wheelchair: :earth_americas:
