Accessibility information for trip to Scotland?

From a member of our community:

My husband is mobility impaired and has multiple health issues. He doesn’t travel with me often as it is so difficult. I want to schedule a trip to Scotland as it is someplace he wants to go before he dies. Does anyone have information or recommendations about accessibility in Scotland?

I am in a power wheelchair. My Niece study a semester in Edinburgh and we went to visit. We also went to Sterling and London. In my opinion, the UK is more accessible and open minded then the US. Most of the Taxes are accessible but are small. Sometimes they will make excuses in order to get out of transporting but not often. The Train are very accessible as well. Can not help with hotel. We stayed at Airbnb.
