I went to Barcelona, Spain. I had transport in ORD and in Barcelona airports. Plus I was upgraded to first class generously to help me feel more confident. We stayed at Majestic Hotel, which is in a very nice, safe area, central to everything. Our hotel not only gave us a great room with spectacular views near the elevator, but held a wheelchair for me daily.
It even got better when visiting many historical sites, architectural marvels etc. People were eager to help make our experience better and even possible. At Gaudí’s Sagrada Familia Basilica you have to walk down a tight spiral staircase that they started building 140 years ago. I thought I wouldn’t be able to go to the top, but they let me ride both ways on the elevator.
Barcelona was a fabulous experience. And I didn’t even call ahead. But I would recommend it to make sure.
