BTW when we were in Milan we used the subway extensively to get around. The very wonderful staff at the station we entered would call ahead to our destination station to make sure the elevator was working.

If you do rent a scooter, make sure it’s a quality 4 wheel scooter with very thick high 9” wheels,’so you could manage the difficult roads. We went to Rome with my three wheel scooter, it was very difficult to get staff to help us On and off the trains. Do your homework for where are you going. Is the train station next to the hotel, if they’re accessible, making sure Elevator is there if necessary. Most of the train stations are unmanned. can you buy tickets from the machine or on the train. I hope you have a wonderful trip.
